It can depend on the disc, the region (+EU country it comes from if
applicable) and which dvd player you have.
Some of them are not removeable on most players. eg. some/most French and
German dvds will insist on showing subtitles in those languages even if a
movie is in English. Some players can get these off via workarounds.
