Welcome to the world of Archos - got my first one a year ago and love it
(560 too)

I norm just rec direct from source ie TV or DVD player.

Otherwise try Im TOO DVD Ripper platinum set at a bit rate of about 1,200
and a screen size of 480x272 (settings are for my New A504 tho)


This is also a great source of help and the forums are not at breaking point
with many many lenghty threads it becomes a chore.
