The disks are made of polycarbonate and are unlikely to break. The
jewel cases are made of "crystal" polystyrene and are very easy to
break. Izod impact strength of PC is about 4:1 better then GPPS,
technically speaking. I get expensive DVDs mailed in simple cardboard
mailers (no case, just a paper sleeve) often, and none has arrived
broken. Stacking two or more disks without jewel cases increases the
odds even further.
