Got here this morning, via DHL so there were no delivery problems.
Eight days from India to LA!
And... it works. The instructions are useless (they actually end with
"make your videos more gooder!") but all the pieces are pretty
self-explanitory - if you know enough about the concept to buy one in
the first place, it all goes together pretty easily. Hung my GlideCam
4000 on the end of it and it floats there just like it's supposed to.
Hafta make a couple of extensions for the straps this weekend (I'm a
big guy; it's just a little too tight to use comfortably) and then it's
off to Griffith Park to walk around and get the hang of the thing.
For what it's worth, I've never used the 'actual' Glidecam vest, so I
don't know if this is lacking something that the real deal offers. But
just walking around my apartment, the thing seems like it's going to do
pretty much whatever I need a StediCam-type device to do.

Hmm indeed - hadn't seen the eBay store but I had problems finding
video stuff on the website myself. I actually found it by going to the
alibaba site and doing a search, and I'm still not entirely comfortable
with ordering through them without the benifit of eBay. They take
PayPal but I got no automatic response (except from PayPal, of course)
saying that payment had been received/order had been shipped/here's
your tracking number. I'll mention that to them when I drop them a
note (they asked me to let them know when it arrived, after I'd asked
them for a tracking number - which they provided).
Anybody else have any experience with these folks? Good? Bad?
