Hey PT -- just come to Seattle -- 21 F outside right now, supposed to
go to 10 or so tonight. Great opportunities for video watching the
traffic
on the highways and byways where the snow melted and turned back
to sheets of ice today !!
Seriously, sort of off the wall, but one thing that comes to mind
is a thermal blanket "jacket" made for the camera to protect it
from the cold, and if you can find them (or take them with you
in checked luggage) are those chemical hand warmer packets
that are good for 6 or 8 hours stuffed in a pocket inside the
camera jacket (I think they are iron oxide based if I remember
correctly). We use them on the humming bird feeder (several
winter over around here) to keep it from freezing during the day
with a double sock over it for insulation. Actually works fairly
well - even if not particularly "high tech" :-)
Down near the bottom of this page are my latest humming bird
pix shot when it was about 20 degrees F outside.
