Mine works most of the time, but not always. The failures have been in
audiobooks with hundreds of files in sequence.

I use a scheme for naming files and directories that keeps them in
sequence on linux. I can handle backups and file conversions without
recourse to any software that is proprietary or is unlikely to last for
decades. I can handle music files exactly like every other file on my
computer.
