If rumors are true of Apple leaning toward dual-format for the next
version, that would involve a single-drive system--
Although they likely saw it as just a codec-translation issue, which's
probably what LG thought going in.
LG's player only had problems in that it started out being built as one
thing and ended up another--A correct single-drive system could be built
from the ground up, but it would involve having that goal from the
design stage this time.
