DVDs have their sound track put on the disc how it would be in the
cinema, if you go to the cinema you notice that you can hear the
dialogue, but the music / sound effects are deafening.
When you play the disc at home you will notice the same, there is often
a setting on the DVD player that allows you to alter this. Often called
DRC, you may see it labelled under dynamic range.
