People have already stopped buying PS3s - there's no games and it's more
expensive than every other console on the market.
Hybrid players that handle BOTH formats are going to be the true winner as
they'll quickly outpace both single-format players because they don't
force consumers to choose one format or the other. It was completely
assinine for the companies to think consumers would be fine with choosing
one studios' movies over another simply because they were "in that other
format". Other companies will quickly jump on the hybrid wagon which will
cause prices to drop quickly.

Again, you can't look at just one month and make sweeping long term
predictions. In reality, the HD movie market is still in its infancy and
will remain a niche market for the next 5-10 years.
