Having recently bought the xbox 360 HD-DVD drive add on, I can say that most
posters here are missing the point in my opinion. have you seen HD on a big
screen from a shiny disc (not Sky's - thats good resolution but still not
fast enough bit rate to get rid of the compression artefacts)? It's
awesome! It's ALMOST as big a jump in PQ as VHS was to DVD. I have a 9'
screen and the picture takes my breath away - and that's only 760p over
component. 1080p over HDMI would be even better.
There WILL be affordable dual format players in the next few years. It's
not so much of a battle as the media make out - I think it's more like DTS
vs Dolby Digital. It's either/or - take your pick!
But if you love HC and want to be like a kid again, GET HD, whether it's BR
or HD-DVD, just get it. You won't regret it for a moment!
