How is he wrong?

Stand alone Blu-Ray players sold - 25,000
Stand alone HD-DVD players sold - 120,000

DVD players sold 349,000 units the first year. Excluding PCs and game
consoles 16 million DVD players were sold in 2005. In 2004 it was
around 20 million

Neither Blu-Ray nor HD-DVD is setting the world on fire.
