Personally I don't have a problem with new formats having a shorter life
span providing what comes along offers a significant improvement over what
it's replacing. And when I say 'improvement', I mean in terms of storage
capacity, picture or audio quality - not fancy bells and whistles that no
one really needs. The last thing we need is a format that lasts as long as
VHS did - that, to me, is a dead format that would hold back technological
advancement. I'd like to think in 30 years, we'll be looking at solid state
holographic movies! lol
