The European HVR-V1e was released with a poorly functioning 25P
capability. When recording in that mode it looked like it had been
processed by a Photoshop filter!
Sony worked on a fix and our cameras were collected by prime support,
firmware updated and returned. Problems still remained and supposedly
Sony knew of these problems and were trying to fix them.
I got a call from prime support yesterday to say that there would be no
more fixes!! That's your lot. 25P mode will look like shit forever.
Sony are offering refunds to ALL V1e customers and are now repositioning
the camera as a low cost Z1E. They are removing any mention of 25P from
their sales blurb.
So if you have a V1E or a V1P you can get your money back if you want it.
The US model V1U does not have a problem apparently and is capable of
24P, 30P. Can't confirm that as I haven't seen any footage from it.
