The OP was regarding P2P software, I just replied with what I use.
There is also the option of search engine "intitle" searches, but they
can be a little hit and miss!
Type the following into google for example
intitle:"index of" "last modified"
and then put the format (i.e. mp3) and artist next
e.g.
intitle:"index of" "last modified" mp3 beatles
You'll then get a list of sites hosting track by The Beatles.
