Some cameras feature this mode but I would never use it on a camera. It
just seems like a kludgey way to do stop motion, considering the
technology involved. What exactly is it doing with the heads and the
tape during the wait between frames?
But a very good way is to hook up the camcorder without tape in it, to a
computer with a firewire card and use Premiere or some other application
to capture frames. I've done it and it works very well.
