Geena, I agree with you, with one caveat. Consumers hate format
wars of any kind, and such a war will always slow adoption. True,
DVD/Divx wasn't as monumental as VHS/Betamax or HD-DVD/BluRay, but
it was a deterrent. DVD had to conquer many obstacles in its early
years, I think Divx was one of them, however small.
