LCD on standby uses as much power as anything else.. its all electronics.
It is not true 'LCD uses less power', yes the heater.. but the backlight makes up
for that :-)

Well, this is generally true for computers.
As you will be aware Billy Gates just came with Vista, and it needs 'better hardware'
(read hardware that consumes more power), so Billy The Gates is alone responsible for
having to build 11 nuclear plants just to power Vista!!!!!
