Spex, most of these features have been in Vegas since version 4.0 (2004) so
you can't say FCP hasn't had the opportunity to catch up :-)

It's definitely someting you have to get used to. My previous NLE was a
dpsVelocity and the ONLY thing I miss about it is the real time playback. I
find I can cut much quicker in Vegas than I ever could in Velocity. The
audio capabilities alone make it worth twice the price.

I'm getting ready to buy a new computer and am seriously considering a Mac
Pro Quad Xeon, especially since Bill Gates brought out Vista. What a POS!!
The more I read about it, the more I'm leaning towards a Mac.
As you said, with Bootcamp, I can still run all my PC apps plus get started
learning FCP.
Sleep is such an over rated commodity anyway :-)

BTW, a friend of mine who owns a local post house is almost done his switch
from Media Composer to FCP HD and isn't missing it one bit. Plus he's
saving a PILE of money not having to pay Avid insane $$$ for "support".
