We use MacDrive in Bootcamp and Parallels which makes your argument
invalid. For $50 it is a no brainer.

Parallels is fine for office apps and testing cross platform web
applications. Parallels limitations are known and graphics/video
support is one of them and Parallels make no bones about that. What is
really required is GPUs with virtualisation technology too.

I simply do not accept that given my own experience of using it daily.
The only issue I know of is the Mac Pro drive speed but that can be
easily overcome by making a custom XP install disc.
