Wow - "scientists" - Man what dream world are you living in?? Do you
really believe these guys are not just there putting in their time
till Miller time like the rest of the work force? Probably not quite
sober from last nights Miller time. Get real, man! Your "scientists"
may have been a clerk at Walmart a couple months ago.
I have had heads and other major tape handling components replaced in
numerous Sony DV units and have NEVER got one back the first time in
proper alignment. Quality is definitely not "Job 1" at Sony Factory
service facilities. Each has to go back to get 'touched up" at least
once. I will not supply a previous tape to them either, I want them
aligned to correct factory specs. A little harder for them but insures
universal interchangeability. I currently have 5 full size Sony DV/
DVCam decks and 8 Sony DV Mini and full size DV/DVCam cameras with
complete interchangeability of DVCam, DV-SP and DV-LP tapes. It ain't
that difficult, it just requires alignment done right by your
"scientists".
