Mike,
If you are still reading this check out vmware fusion (videos on youtube
well worth watching). In Beta but offers better graphics speed.
Virtualisation on the desktop is still in beta phase so I wouldn't take
what you've read in this thread a by any means the final story. For us
Parallels offers us quick access to PC Office and other productivity
apps that don't have a direct OS X universal binary equivalent.
For everything else bootcamp is excellent for creativity application if
you want 99% PC compatibility. We haven't had any problems but are only
running a small selection of software on bootcamp. So I don't now if
there are any gotchas to be aware of. But for beta grade tools both
Parallels and bootcamp are extremely useful tools and negate the need
for a dedicated PC in our workflow.
