There's far worse problems that that. For instance, I have a samsung
up-converting DVD player, and it is hooked to my multi-input LCD monitor
via hdmi. If I pause the DVD and switch the monitor to a different
input for a minute to check something from a different source, I have to
turn both the DVD player and the monitor on and off again and fast forward
to where I left off if I want to resume watching the DVD because the
$#@! HDCP protection scheme has timed out and disable the video.

This is the sort of thing that drives law abiding citizens to become
felons and buy black market HDCP stripping boxes (anyone know where
I can get one :-).
