Thanks Gene and Stuart. It seems like there are so many interesting new
things happening in this world of video, hi def, BluRay, etc. and keeping up
with new developments has been helped a lot for me by reading what others
have to say in these newsgroups. I don't get especially hung up on "How many
newsgroups should I post this to, 3 or 4?" or spend too much time thinking;
"Will somebody maybe think I have a hidden business motive for describing a
new computer PCI card?". As a result I may be violating certain rules of
newsgroup etiquette. Also, since I have been using newsgroups for nearly 30
years and have a different mindset about how to share information to improve
knowledge and understanding, I tend to rely on patterns which may be out of
fashion.
I do know for certain that it doesn't take much to qualify to participate in
these discussion groups, and thus there are far too many adolescent /
immature kids sitting at keyboards looking to act in a way they consider
adult, but their manners, vulgarity, and poor judgment betray them over and
over again. I try to ignore them, since they may be encouraged by giving
them attention. "Starve the trolls", to use another very apt way of
describing it.
Thanks again for your encouraging words.
