Any recommendations on entry-level cameras? There are new Sonys for
under $300 (DCR-HC28 @ $245 and DCR-HC38 @ $270) and various others
(Canon, JVC, etc.) which might make sense given the fact that there is
a warranty and they are probably at least as good as a 2-3 year-old
$400 camera that I can buy used for $200 or so. Plus, there's no wear
on the heads/transport and they come with a warranty.

I really appreciate the help ... can't wait until I actually try to
get the video in the Mac. I'm working with VOB files now, but I've
overcome that learning curve and made good small 720X355 widescreen
mp4 and flv files of the band to post online.That's why I bought the
Mac Pro, I couldn't stand how slow my original G5 was. An extra $300
or so won't kill me.
