Yes indeed, and the claims for ISO 1600 for the still photography reinforces
the potential for this little camera to be quite nicely suited for low light
video use as well. This may not be a professional camera but it sure is a
real novelty and the first to fit such a remarkable combination of 10X zoom,
HD video, image stabilization, etc. into a shirt pocket. The $499 MSRP is
not out of line IMHO, but I do recognize that this will best be considered
in the "big boy toys" category.
I share your opinion of dpreview BTW, and particularly when Simon Joison
does the reviews. Phil Askey, the site founder, strikes me as a more
knowledgeable and balanced reviewer. I still like to watch their news daily
since they are typically scooping the rest of the Internet in photo news for
still cameras.
