But...is it really spam?
It was cross-posted, not multi-posted, so its BI rating is well below 20,
which is what most admins use to determine if someone is spamming usenet.
About the only thing he could be guilty of would be posting an ad to
groups that don't allow them.
That assumes his post was actually an ad. Was it even an ad? That's
debatable. The poster could be a shill, or could just have come across
something he thought was interesting/useful information.
Most usenet admins rely on automated spam filters, and most ISP admins
don't care what you do on usenet, so long as you're not openly violating
copyright law (ie. uploading warez, movies, music), using racial slurs,
posting MMF or similar illegal scams, or openly threatening someone with
physical violence. Otherwise, usenet complaints get ignored.
