You bring up a good point. I care very much about the noise level of my
electronics and before I bought I had read that the Pioneer 640 was fairly
quiet and it is. It does produce some sound but not much. It's certainly
quieter than the old Samsung recorder I used to own. Whether it would be
enough to bother you during sleeping....hmm. For me, probably yes but I'm
not normal when it comes to noise. I like 100% quiet (which is of course,
impossible to get). I think you'll find this machine acceptable. Plus, it's
a darn good recorder!
