Any recommendations on a specific model or link to a good tripod and
also external microphone (to put on a boom to hold over actors heads)
for digital indie filmmaking? I am about to buy the Canon XH-A1
digital high def camcorder, I know little about videography but from
what I have read I think I should get a tripod with a fluid head, is
that right? Any recommended models appreciated. I am on a budget, but
I want to be able to do smooth panning and tilting when filming an
indie movie (writing my script now, it will be my first!). I could
see spending a up to $300-400 hundred dollars if needed on a tripod,
less if possible of course but I do want smooth panning, whatever it
takes for that.
Also I know nothing about microphones, any recommendations on an
affordable but good microphone appreciated? I am looking for the kind
of micropone for attaching to a boom/pole top hold over actors as they
speak, etc. and for thus attaching to external microphone jack on the
digital camcorder.
Help greatly appreciated, thank you very much in advance.
