There have been several discussions about this very topic
here (rec.video.production and/or rec.video.desktop) just
in the last couple months, including reports from people
using that product and the similar Panasonic tape.
Recommend using Google Groups to review the
discussions.

At the end of the day (or the end of the production) I'd bet
that there isn't a dime's worth of difference between the
Sony and equivalent Panasonic tapes. There may very
well be a difference in price depending on where you are
on the planet and who you are buying from.

Note that when changing brands of tape, I do one or two
passes of head cleaner tape just to avoid any potential
problems from difference in chemistry, lubrication, etc.

I personally use the Sony DVM60EXML and buy them
10-20-50 at a time. For my purposes, trying to find a
lower-cost alternative isn't worth the hassle/risk to me.
