In fact, with a lack of games, the loudest raves on the Gamerz groups
lately seem to be "D00d!--You can be cheap and play [Blu/HD] on your
[PS3/Xbox]!"
(Mostly from those sentimental about the whole PS2 birth-of-DVD thing,
or just wishful that they didn't get to live through the legend.)
But, y'see, given the choice, Sony doesn't WANT us watching Blu-Ray on
our PS3's (never mind whether we're not playing games on them, either)...
They want us to get hooked on all those cool movies, and then run out
and buy the big expensive official hardware for our living room. And
we're not.
*Especially* the non-game theater-techies that were supposed to, on the
viral word-of-mouth of all those gamerz who got it for free.
And when we don't...somebody at Sony is going to start feeling it.
And if "WHOAAH!--Amazon's selling their disks at clearance price!" was
deemed worth a post, betcha can't wait to start writing your
"WHOAAH!--Sony's cutting their player price in half because they
couldn't give them away!...Now everybody can buy one!" post now and save
time.
