I am about to purchase a Canon XH-A1 digital camcorder. I am wondering
if i need to buy a skylight/UV filter to protect the lens, or even a
polarizing or warming (intensifier) filter? I have always purchased a
UV filter for my 35mm SLR cameras, but over on the digital photography
board I was being told NOT to buy such a protective filter, rather to
simply use the lens cap and take care of the lens; that a filter
simply introduces greater chances for lens flare. So now I am
confused whether to get a filter(s) and if/what what filter to get. Or
to NOT use a a filter and simply do any warming, etc. in post-
production? Any help/advice appreciated.
