5 seconds of typing "PS3 region lock" into Google produced the following
information:-

Incidentally, a Samsung Blu-Ray disc player owning friend in the US is
miffed
that he is unable to play Blu-Ray disc movie titles imported from other
parts of the world like he can with his Toshiba HD-DVD player.
