Yes, again, I am sorry that these locations are missing in my program.
I see it as a true shortcoming that i hope to be able to correct
sometime soon. I just might have to go about doing custom updates of
my database. I really REALLY don't want to do this though, as the DB
is approx. 5MB. Requiring a user to DL a 5MB file over and over again
is really disgusting. Oh yeah and I'm on dialup :( with no access to
broadband whatsoever (really in the boonies) So I'm not too motivated
to do such a thing b/c of that either.
I could always spend the ~$20,USD and get a new DB, i feel my program
is worth it, but then i would also be playing a constant catch up game.
There will inevitably be users who demand a constant, updated DB for
whatever reason. I may just allow a function to let users add data
themselves; though I was saving this for next the major version, to
coincide with custom satellites and international functionality.

Regarding a PocketPC version.... theoretically since this is developed
with .NET, i should just be able to shunt this stuff over to the
'CompactFramework' which is what is used on Windows Mobile PC's. I
haven't done this yet as I do not trust emulators for testing and I
don't have any PocketPC/Windows Mobile devices. If you would like to
test with me personally... I'll go ahead and try it, but i wouldn't
even want to release anything unless i was sure that there was no
chance it might accidentally give a wrong calculation. So i guess i'm
saying that i would be more than happy to work with you towards a
PocketPC version.
I have some reservations as to the useability of the PocketPC version
as a legitimate tool, as these devices often have certain space
limitations, and i wouldn't want to force a 5MB DB file on anyone. The
Mobile version might just have the Coordinates entry with the option to
save certain ones, maybe with aliases so e.g.
User enters Latitude and Longitude and gets Look Angles. He can then
save the Coordinates entry with a name like NYC, NY or LA, CA. Might
just have it auto-save/load last entered useable coordinates. maybe an
amalgamtion of both. Frankly the possibilities could grow and i
haven't really thought about it as it was something to build on once
this original codebase was stabilized.

Shit, sorry i'm so long-winded. I really do want this to be a
comfortable intuitive nearly-irreplacable tool for technicians and
hobbyists, and i'm rather passionate about it.
If any of the PocketPC ideas seem valid and you would be interested in
helping me develop/test whatever.... shoot me an e-mail:

I'll be keeping the group updated on any major developments in the
software, and hope to come back with a zip code solution that is
acceptable and agreeable to all the users.
Oh yeah, and you can keep updated from http://satcalc.sourceforge.net
or RSS feed http://satcalc.sourceforge.net/rss.xml
I hope to be making updates soon!
