I was going to stay out of this, but I just have to chime in. It is
against the law to exchange an openned DVD / CD / or Software title for
anything other than another copy of the same title. It is part of the
copyright laws I believe. This was done to prevent people from buying a
movie, burning it, exchanging it for something else, burning that,
exchanging it, etc. And yes it does suck, because sometimes a store does
get hit with a bad batch of DVDs. It happened to me, and I had to return
the same movie 4 times. Finally I was given a raincheck for a copy of the
DVD when a new shipment came in.
Book stores and music stores that sell used DVDs promote them as used and
sell them at lower prices. Wal-mart does not sell openned, used media. And
by the way Action Comics #1 in mint condition is only worth around $
760,000. Do some research before you go on your rants.
