There are DVDs that are designed for archival storage. They
aren't cheap but they are out there.
MAM-A is one. The gold disks remind me of the gold ones
that Kodak used to make years ago - that the mastering labs liked
submissions on.
The new 'Accurcore' media from Sony has impressive specs too.
