We purchased a new Sony DCR-DVD108 camcorder that uses
the Sony NP-FH40 and larger batteries. (InfoLithium "H" series)
I like to carry a lot of batteries, but these "H" batteries from Sony will
cost more than the little camera!!!
QUESTIONS:
1. Anyone know of a source of batteries, that are not Sony, and less
expensive?
2. Will the older NP-FP71, or NP-FP70 work in this Sony DCR-DVD108
camcorder.
3. Is there a tiny plastic gizmo that will let me charge the new NP-FH40s,
etc. from
something like an older InfoLithium "M" series battery in the field?
BTW - the quality is not as good as MiniDV, as you would expect, but it's
not a bad
way to get an hour of video burned to a cheap DVD-R. You can carry a LOT of
the tiny DVD discs, a lot easier than tape to get to the larger DVD-Rs.
(Shoot on RWs, then copy & re-use the tiny DVD+RWs/1.4GB.)
THANKS,
Gene
