I've just about run out of patience with Pinnacle Video Studio 9. This
program has given me no end of trouble ever since I bought it, but the major
problem has been how it hangs during the rendering process. During my most
recent project, it simply would not play the video back properly even in
preview mode - constantly kept stopping and starting. I tried recapturing
the raw video file on a second, well-defragmented hard drive and got the
exact same result. For some reason it simply does not like the piece of
video regardless of where or how it is captured.
I downloaded a trial version of Ulead VStudio 10, and wasn't surprised
that it handled and rendered the very same files with ease. Unfortunately,
VStudio 10 only runs at 1024x768 resolution, and due to visual problems I
can't stand anything higher than 800x600, at least not on my 17" monitor. So
VStudio is out. I'm considering the latest version of Pinnacle (10.5) but I
fear it will just do the very same thing.
This is a huge bother to me as I'm trying to produce videos for online
distribution, and these maddening software bugs have brought production to a
complete standstill. Can someone please give me some advice? Is there a
half-decent video editor that will run at 800x600, and is Pinnacle 10.5
better than it's bug-riddled predecessor?
