The process we call 'ripping' is simply converting the music cd native
format to mp3. Windows media player will do that, as will music match, real
juke box, certain versions of winamp, and many other programs.
I have never used Nero Digital Audio. I have always used easy cd creator to
do this. It is now a part of Roxio Media but the free version is still
available. Don't choose music cd, choose data cd.
I have nero here, but I have had other problems with it.

The default play order is alphabetical (windows style) , so you have to
cheat a bit - I use artist/album/track-number/track-name in the mp3 naming
process to force the original play order, or you can manually prefix the
file name with a sequence number. The menu will always follow a specific
recursive path through the directories, again you can force the play
sequence. Some dvd players let you sepcify a play sequence.

It should - I have 3 dvd payers (different brands) here whch do.
It works exactly the same as making a cd for the cd/mp3 player in my car.
Experment with a cd-rw
