On 2007-04-25, def456 <def456@none.none> rambled on thusly:
>> Have you ever heard of a thing called a "movie theater"?
> Yes, but I haven't been to one for the last 25 years. :)
> The convenience and comfort of a home TV system capable of playing movies on
> tape or disc has taken over completely. I tried cable and satellite but
> prefer DVDs. I did the rental thing for VHS tapes then DVDs for a long time,
> but now it's just Netflix.
> Movie theaters are outmoded. Nobody goes anymore!
Well, if you truly believe this, then why not get equipment that can
actually create an enjoyable environment for you? A 25" tv is not
movie-worthy. Neither is a 4:3 display. I'd recommend adjusting the max
amount you are willing to spend up by 4x to 5x. You can find a very decent
set for $800-$1000, and then you won't have to worry about this. AND you'll
find that movies at home are even more enjoyable.
