Yes. That's exactly what is happening with FS "Die Another Day". A
smaller image of each movie frame can be packed with more detail into
the same size 720 x 480 DVD 'box'.
Also, let me slightly reword your sentence above. Just in case I am not
making myself clear.
Definition of ZOOM (which you considered unfair):
"More screen real-estate devoted to the SAME detail."
