I use DVD+RW for testing all the time. There is no intrinsic reason why a
DVD+RW should not play back on your particular standalone. Nero is optimised
for playback on PC systems, it is not a package I would use to author a disc
for playback on a standalone. Pegasys TMPGEnc + DVD Author is about the most
reliable combination you could have for that particular purpose. I've also
found the make of burner is critical. I use an NEC which is tolerant of both
blank disc brand and standalone player.
