I started DVD buying with Amazon.Com in June 1999 -with Brazil Criterion
Edt. actually, see my tag, and at that time and for some time to come they
shipped very cheap to Germany through Amsterdam and/or Belgium, where
it was stamped "customs cleared" or something like that,
so even large orders would not be hit by customs in Germany.
I cannot think of a reason why they would not ship DVD's to UK at
that time - well maybe UK law (?).
Books, DVD's, CD's, VHS-Tapes from Amazon.Com to Germany are no
problem. Toys, Games, Kitchen-Tools, DVD-Player, etc. are another matter.
They clearly state it so you cannot complete the order with a German
delivery adress, which I think would be the same for a UK adress.
