Many restaurants take debit cards, but not credit cards because charging
<$10 is just too expensive. Debit cards carry no service charge for the
store/restaurant, you see.

All the banks in my area give you debit cards (whether you want one or
not) that's linked to your checking account. The idea is that you're
supposed to use this card to pay for things like groceries, gas, or that
trip to Burger King...
