As of today the best choice for editing AVCHD is Sony Vegas. The new
7.0e update includes support for this new format.

I would expect the big 3 to announce support for this forwmat dwon the
road. Right now I think all three are concentrating on HDV and all the
various flavors, as well as the Panasonic DVC pro HD and P2 workflows.
