I'll pitch my 2 cents toward the Canopus ADVC products. I've been using a
model 100 for three or four years to get analogue video into and out of
computers. Works great. The model 100 even allows one to bypass some
copy-protect schemes, a feature not that important to me, bit it is to some.
The unit connects to the computer with an IEEE1394 (Firewire) cable.
Connectors on the box provide analogue video and stereo audio in and out.
Video is on either an RCA jack for composite video or an S-Video connector.
New the unit was around $249. I'm sure they go for a lot less on Ebay.
