No, digital files don't degrade after capturing, because you normally
capture .avi files, .mpg is different. You have nothing to lose, see
what the quality of vid cap from the AIW is. If editing the file is a
goal, leave the DVDR out of it for now. I prefer to use my MiniDV camera
for doing A to D capture, but it has the inputs and outputs for that.
