I've been looking for a small digital video camera (mini-DV tape and
SD are preferrable) that has manual exposure (iris and shutter speed)
and manual focus controls that DOES NOT require using the flip out
screen to make the manual adjustments. This camera would be used
primarily for domestic and international travel. I've been very
disappointed in the selection that I've seen at the "big box" stores
and have not found anything with my web searches. I'm not very keen
about cameras that require using the flip out screens to manually set
the exposure.
I have a Sony HDR-FX1 but it's just too bulky when I'm supposed to be
working for the "client". I don't feel too bad about pulling out a
small camera and getting some footage of neat places while I'm on the
client's nickel but feel sheepish when I pull the big boy out. I have
an older Sony (DCR TRV10) that worked very nicely but it's almost worn
out so I'm looking for a suitable replacement.
Does anyone know of a smallish camera with manual controls that are
located on the exterior of the camera?
Regards,
Mike
