THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (1998, TV MOVIE) (reviewed by James A.

"Dumas's story isn't exactly realistic, since most people in Dantes's
position would have taken the jewels and run off to Italy, end of story.
Since his Dantes isn't most people, it gives Dumas the opportunity to
filter questions of morality through Dantes's troubled mind. While you
could watch the entire miniseries without pondering morality once, those
who do consider those questions will find The Count of Monte Cristo
richer than the typical action fare."

THE DORIS DAY SHOW: SEASON TWO (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall

"So why did this top ten show vanish into obscurity? In short, Doris Day
was as square as this four-disc boxed set. In 2005, the 'square' label
is a rather quaint put down that suggests a wholesome naivete. In the
early '70s, a time of great sociological upheaval and bitter struggles
for gender equality, it was tantamount to treason."

KING OF THE HILL: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Jennifer

"Another aspect the show manages well is celebrity guest voices. Another
great prime-time, animated family (which I promise to stop mentioning
after this) would have stars like Owen Wilson and Paul Giamatti on the
show as themselves. Frankly, this approach usually stinks, as proven by
the parade of (as they put it) 'humor-killing celebrity guest stars' in
some of the worse seasons of The Simpsons. But on King of the Hill,
Wilson plays a dorky, horny, fellow virgin who proposes to Luanne, and
Giamatti voices a hippie-dippie environmentalist."

"Now don't get me wrong, the couple appear to be nice enough folk. They
appear at the obligatory charity appearances with smiles on their faces,
and are nice to those that serve or wait on them. But I don't know how
being nice despite being famous is something that a lot of people should
