THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES, THE ROCKFORD FILES: SEASON ONE, and THREE'S
COMPANY: SEASON FIVE:
THE AMAZING RACE: SEASON 7 (reviewed by David Johnson, overall
score 90/100):
"Watch relationships crumble in the face of greed! Now with airplanes
and bungee-jumping!"

THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO (1998, TV MOVIE) (reviewed by James A.
Stewart, overall score 88/100):
"Dumas's story isn't exactly realistic, since most people in Dantes's
position would have taken the jewels and run off to Italy, end of story.
Since his Dantes isn't most people, it gives Dumas the opportunity to
filter questions of morality through Dantes's troubled mind. While you
could watch the entire miniseries without pondering morality once, those
who do consider those questions will find The Count of Monte Cristo
richer than the typical action fare."

THE DORIS DAY SHOW: SEASON TWO (reviewed by Rob Lineberger, overall
score 88/100):
"So why did this top ten show vanish into obscurity? In short, Doris Day
was as square as this four-disc boxed set. In 2005, the 'square' label
is a rather quaint put down that suggests a wholesome naivete. In the
early '70s, a time of great sociological upheaval and bitter struggles
for gender equality, it was tantamount to treason."

EVERYBODY LOVES RAYMOND: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Russell
Engebretson, overall score 100/100):
"Quite a number of the Everybody Loves Raymond episodes, stripped of
their comic overtones, would be as incisive and devastating as a short
story from James Joyce's Dubliners."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/raymondseason5.php
FOOTBALLERS WIVES: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Brendan
Babish, overall score 85/100):
"In case you were still wondering, Footballers Wives is not likely to
cause anyone to examine any negative impressions they currently have
regarding Posh Spice."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/footballerswivesseason2.php
F TROOP (TELEVISION FAVORITES COMPILATION) (reviewed by Aaron Bossig,
overall score 75/100):
"Likewise, the level of incompetence shown by F Troop might seem too
absurd to believe. Don't forget, the show is a farce; the more absurd it
makes itself, the more possibilities for humor it opens up."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ftroop.php
FULL HOUSE: THE COMPLETE SECOND SEASON (reviewed by Patrick Naugle,
overall score 40/100):
"If you were forced to sit through a half hour of jokes involving little
kids making cutesy-wutsey wisecracks, would you want to learn a lesson
at the end? No sir, you'd want to kill yourself using whatever blunt
instrument you could find."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/fullhouseseason2.php
THE HUCKLEBERRY HOUND SHOW: VOLUME ONE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 84/100):
"Though no longer one of HB's marquee figures, Huckleberry Hound was
undeniably its first big star -- a likable, if slightly vanilla,
character who never lost his cool."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/huckleberryhoundvol1.php
I LOVE LUCY: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON (reviewed by Brett Cullum,
overall score 92/100):
"Being able to summon your favorite episode without having to wait for a
syndication airing is what having a DVD player is all about."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/ilovelucyseason4.php
KINGDOM (reviewed by Brendan Babish, overall score 77/100):
"Despite uneven storylines, and the dodgy special effects, as a whole,
Kingdom is worth watching. It has an appealingly distinct style and, for
a low-budget television drama, is admirably ambitious."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kingdom.php
KING OF THE HILL: THE COMPLETE FIFTH SEASON (reviewed by Jennifer
Malkowski, overall score 80/100):
"Another aspect the show manages well is celebrity guest voices. Another
great prime-time, animated family (which I promise to stop mentioning
after this) would have stars like Owen Wilson and Paul Giamatti on the
show as themselves. Frankly, this approach usually stinks, as proven by
the parade of (as they put it) 'humor-killing celebrity guest stars' in
some of the worse seasons of The Simpsons. But on King of the Hill,
Wilson plays a dorky, horny, fellow virgin who proposes to Luanne, and
Giamatti voices a hippie-dippie environmentalist."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kinghillseason5.php
THE KUMARS AT NO. 42 (reviewed by Mike Pinsky, overall score 86/100):
"Now, you don't just get 15 minutes of fame. Now, everybody gets a
talk show."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/kumarsatno42.php
M*A*S*H: SEASON NINE (reviewed by David Johnson, overall score 89/100):
"So how long were these guys in Korea again?"
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/mashseason9ce.php
NEWLYWEDS: NICK AND JESSICA: THE FINAL SEASON (reviewed by Ryan Keefer,
overall score 70/100):
"Now don't get me wrong, the couple appear to be nice enough folk. They
appear at the obligatory charity appearances with smiles on their faces,
and are nice to those that serve or wait on them. But I don't know how
being nice despite being famous is something that a lot of people should
have been watching on TV."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/nickandjessicafinal.php
PEEP SHOW: THE COMPLETE FIRST SERIES (reviewed by Joel Pearce, overall
score 85/100):
"Once we adjust to the strangeness of hearing the characters' thoughts
and seeing through their eyes, tedium starts to set in. By the last two
episodes, it becomes clear that the show's creators were having too much
fun with the premise to bother thinking through a full series arc."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/peepshowseries1.php
THE ROCKFORD FILES: SEASON ONE (reviewed by Paul Corupe, overall
score 85/100):
"When Rockford wasn't on screen coyly smiling at the ladies, scamming
potential suspects, or getting punched in the gut, he was undoubtedly
caught up in a high speed car chase -- a series staple that allowed
Cannell & Co. to milk as much sex appeal from Rockford's Pontiac
Firebird as possible."
FULL REVIEW: http://www.dvdverdict.com/reviews/rockfordfilesseason1.php
THREE'S COMPANY: SEASON FIVE (reviewed by Patrick Naugle, overall
score 89/100):
"Here's to casual sex and bell-bottom pants!"
