DVD, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+RW, and DVD+R are physical formats.
DVD-RAM is similar but incompatible with the previous.
DVD, DVD-audio, DVD-video are data and multi-media disc types.
All the other terms seem to be audio/video encoding formats.
I've ignored CD formats and HD DVD.
