Most of these overpriced weddings have -nothing- to do
with "god" or "religion" at all. The point is to -impress
the neighbors-, to be able to brag about throwing a
lavish over-the-top affair. A few years ago it was who
could own the biggest SUV, now it's weddings.

While there is something of a "God Industrial Complex", it
gets most of its cash from donations - sick old people
promised they can buy their way into heaven by sleazoids
like Falwell and Robertson. The GIC really isn't getting
much money from these weddings. That cash goes to florists,
caterers, entertainers, tailors and such.
